- The Wapato Harvest Festival is the highlight of the annual Labor Day weekend. There’s a big parade, free entertainment, carnival, and food and game booths.
- The Filipino-American Community’s Annual Harvest Dinner in November features Filipino delicacies and cultural dances.
- People come from all over the Valley to enjoy the traditional Japanese food and exhibits at the Annual Sukiyaki Dinner put on by the Buddhist Temple in Wapato.
- The Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spring Fling Luau ties in with the Spring Barrel Tasting weekend celebrated by the Valley’s wineries.
- The city of Wapato is home to a diverse ethnic population, each representing a rich cultural heritage that Wapato celebrates during its Annual Cultural Unity Fair. Represented are Filipino, Japanese, Native American, European, and Latino communities.
- The Chamber sponsors a Hot Summer Nights event on July 14. Enjoy a night of music in the city park.
Fresh Produce
If you visit the area during the harvest season, Wapato makes a convenient starting and finishing point for fruit and produce runs.
You will find the fruit and produce stands of the Valley on Lateral A Road.
Recreation
- Wapato has an Olympic-size swimming pool open to the public. Swimmers from all over the region compete in an All-Valley Swim Meet every June.
- The Campbell Farm is a unique destination that offers weekly community cookout, games, music, drama and crafts. It is open to the public.
- Enjoy the green shades at the Wapato City Park (South Camas Ave.) and the newly remodeled Victory Park located in downtown Wapato.
Restaurants
Check out the local restaurants and cafes. You’ll find everything from Indian fry bread to home-style cooking, great fast food, pizza, authentic Mexican food and Asian cuisine.
Wineries
